Questions for the ladies of all religions?

I'm very curious as to how religion ties in to how women view themselves, especially because traditionally a lot of religions repress women and their rights. I'm also interested in how modesty, vanity, and propriety relate (if at all) to religion.

So if you're a woman please take the time and answer these questions for me, first providing your religion. Thanks.

1. Do you burp in front of guys?

2. Do you straighten your hair?

3. Do you think that fashion magazines are degrading to women?

4. Did you ever spend all day/night getting pretty for a

guy?

5. Did you ever cry during a romantic movie?

6. Would you leave the house without makeup on?

7. Do you consider making out "unladylike"?

8. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

9. Have you ever dressed unlike yourself to impress a

guy?

Not all day. And I really sort of do it for myself. I like looking cute. Makes me feel good.

Oh yeah. I bawl like a baby

I have three kids. I leave the house all the time with out makeup. There are only so many hours in the day

Unlady like? No. And it depends on where you are making out.

Questions for the ladies of all religions?

I'm a Muslim, and my religion has showed me nothing but the great respect Islam has for women.

Tradition, though, doesn't do that much (but I don't follow tradition, and I've broken almost every rule in the book).

Questions for the ladies of all religions?

1. Depends on my level of comfortability. If it's with my brothers, oh yeah. We have contests. If it's out in public, no. Like the person above said, that's rude.

2. I used to straighten my hair every day. These days I hardly bother unless I feel like having straight hair. Due to the summer humidity though, it's hardly worth it.

3. I think magazines can be degrading by displaying an unrealistic standard of beauty. But some of them are great. I'm a fan of Glamour, which is really a feminist publication. I also like fashion a whole lot, and don't see it contradicting my feminism.

4. I don't bother getting pretty for a guy. If I spend time on myself it's for my own benefit, to boost self confidence, etc. The longest I ever took getting ready was for my junior prom, and in retrospect that was pretty silly.

5. I cry during every movie. And tv commercials. Seriously, for being so unemotional about real life I get really worked up about fiction.

6. I only wear makeup when I feel like it. Probably about 50% of the time.

7. Making out with strangers or in public is tacky.

8. My morning routine is pretty long- 1.5 hours. But during that time I run four miles, shower, make breakfast, take the dogs out, do the crossword, and "get ready."

9. Nope, I've always dressed for myself. When I was younger I just wanted to blend in and wore very nondescript clothes. Now I dress like the classy, self-respecting woman I am.
