Not even close to being true. A dragonfly lives as a nymph underwater for about three years and then once it emerges as an adult it has a lifespan of several months. Not a day. If weather is optimal the fly can live for as long as six months, but if the weather is bad it may only live a few weeks.
I think whoever typed that "fact" was thinking of the mayfly.
So based on the fact that the "fact" about dragonflies was anything but I'm going to assume that a lot more of what's on that list is also false.
