Growing Up...No big deal...Big deal for family?!GIRLS HELP!?

I'm not like *ohhhh i dont want to grow up* sometimes i'm like...*ohh my life seems to be pasting me by* it's not really. and somethings us girl need when we grow up like *bras/pads ect* others like make-up...we don't NEED but want.

I was wearing mascara and eyeshadow to my 13th birthday family party and my aunt pointed it out. I was at home once and 2 of my brothers were like *whats that clown make up for* it get me mad because my sister whos 24 does her make up sorta bad and ugly(never told her) but it looks packed on her eyes.

No one comments on her make up but they do on mine. I don't wear it now because of summer but when school starts...how will i get by with out family being all up front about it!?

What you should do is start wearing pink shadows or whatever color best matches your skin tone before school starts. then they will get used to that. Next you switch to a darker tone or whatever and they will soon get used to that. If they comment on it just think of a smart remark back, but not ifits your parents. If your mom/dad/aunt notice just say I feel that its the right time for me to start wearing makeup, and i won't go crazy with it, i just want to try it out for a while. If i don't like it, i will stop using it. And of course you'll like it but w/e. just don't be rude or offended about it. Also if they insist that you stop, just put it on when you get to school and wipe it off when you get home. nothing wrong with a little sneaking.

okay if this is your first year wearing make up then they'll make a big deal out of it just because it's a change. after you've worn it for a while - without increasing the amount you wear or outrageous colors - it will become your look. it's like going from butt long hair to chin length. everyone comments on it until it becomes you.

The natural look is the way to go, like the pictures. A little bit of mascara goes a long way! Make sure it's not too clumpy! A little pink eye shadow is good for us teens!

I would say don't wear a lot of make-up. It is ok to just put them on lightly but do not just stuff them in like your 24 year old sister cuz make-up can really damage your skin when you are older. Your brothers were probably just messing with you when they say that. Good luck!!!

Your family is just messing with you cause they aren't used to seeing you in makeup thats all. I was 13 when i started wearing makeup. its a trial and error process. Have fun with it, try different colors and different looks and decide what you like best. Make up is something every girl can enjoy. Don't worry about what other people say just be happy with the way you look.

i'm happy you chose the natural look. the first year may be like that, but slowly they'll get used to it, don't go crazy with eyeshadow, and eyeliner

as for your sister, maybe go to a spa and get your make up done just for fun, then maybe she'll use the tips, and improve her look. or just tell her.

The same thing happened to me. I'm 13 too. When I first started wearing eyeliner, my sisters teased me mercilessly about 'being a clone' and 'needed to fit in'. Thats not true, I just liked the way it looked. Simple as that. They're just not used to you growing up. They will, one day, accept the fact that you are on your way up. Next time they ask, say, "I like it, so back off!" If that dosn't work, you could be immature and say, "Whats with your shoes?" Or something, but it doesn't work that well. Stick with it, and they'll back off. Good luck!

thats exactly how my mom was but u can wear eyeliner under your top eye lid and it opens out your eyes and it doesnt look like if you're wearing too much eyeliner
